When people hear that we travel for extended periods of time, they often imagine constant motion with new roads, constant adventure, always chasing what’s next. But the truth is, some of the most meaningful travel has happened when we stay still.
Right now, we’re in Yuma, Arizona. A place we’ve been many times before. No big pins dropped on the map. Not a major travel destination. And yet this week has held some of our favorite moments.
We’ve been slowing down. Following small nudges instead of plans. Saying yes to curiosity. And somehow, through a series of beautiful synchronicities, we found ourselves in places we didn’t even know we were looking for. Beautiful cafes, hidden corners, uplifting conversations, and moments that felt like gifts.
It reminds me that travel isn’t always about distance. It’s a mindset. It’s choosing wonder in ordinary days. It’s staying curious, even when the scenery feels familiar. It’s allowing yourself to be surprised right where you are. Noticing how a place feels rather than how it looks.
I like to think that this mindset is woven into my jewelry. Some pieces are inspired by incredible landscapes and long stretches of road. Others are born from internal journeys – seasons of grounding, reflection, and becoming. From places we return to again and again. From landscapes that feel like home, or moments that quietly shift something inside.
This moment of slowing down has been a reminder that we don’t have to go anywhere special to experience something meaningful. Sometimes, all it takes is presence. A willingness to wander without leaving. To let the day unfold. To trust that beauty will meet us where we are.
