One of my favorite things about running a handmade jewelry business from the road is the inspiration that comes from outside my window. Recently it’s been the incredible wildlife in Yellowstone, the sound of the rushing Flathead river in Montana, the misty coast of Oregon, and the slopes of wine country near Napa Valley.
My camper studio is small but the windows and light allow for a feeling of openness. A modified desk allows me to stand or sit – perfect for those long days of making and creating.
This week we’re parked just outside of Joshua Tree National Park, surrounded by open desert and the distant hills at the end of a dry lake bed. Right before the sun went down last night, I watched a hawk drift effortlessly over the tall grasses, carving slow circles in the sky, while below, a coyote slipped through the same tall grass like a shadow. It was unbelievable. A snow covered mountain peak, far off in the distance, glowed pink and purple in those last bits of light.
Soon we’ll pack up and head to another location in search of new adventures. But for now I am enjoying the amazingness of this incredible place.
Thank you for following my adventures.
